Latin students earn gold, silver medals on the 2024 National Latin and National Mythology exams


For 26 years, CCS Latin students have earned awards on the National Latin Exam, which was taken by approximately 100,000 students in the U.S. and abroad. This year, the National Latin Exam was offered to CCS Latin II-V students.

National Latin Exam

This year’s magna cum laude recipients were Molly Reynolds, Henry Dill and Jenna Babushkin, while Avery Brown, Avell Donders, Claire Rufo and Emma Washburn earned Cum Laude awards.

National Mythology Exam

The Pegasus Mythology Exam is given annually to more than 6,500 students in approximately 450 schools internationally. This year’s version included questions on general classical mythology as well as the story of Heracles. For a decade, CCS 8th grade Latin I students have taken the exam.

Scarlett Bashaw achieved a perfect score, while Quinn Burke captured a gold medal. Quentin Schneider, Jillian Robinson and Scarlett Machell all won silver medals. Cum Laude winners were Kade Webster and Oscar Johnson.
