On Thursday, April 27, the CCS Latin Club hosted its 11th annual school-wide talent show that featured a dozen dynamic acts performed by students in grades 7-12.
With all the talent on display, the iudices, or judges, Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Andrew, and Mr. Sawyer, had a difficult task. Nonetheless, they awarded the CCS Glee Club (Anna Bailey, Gladys Dougherty, Peyton Harrington, Andy Maher, Neve Marotta, Cameron Parker, Adeline Record, Jillian Robinson, Josha Roopnarine, Emma Townsend & Emma Washburn) with best vocal performance. Best solo instrumental went to Isabelle Flint. Seniors Emma Townsend and Harlan Cuite earned best instrumental and vocals. Best solo vocal and instrumental went to Ewan Lederer-Barnes. Archer Fayte was deemed best solo vocalist. Best dancing performance went to the Hubbard Hall Irish dancers Ayla Dansin, Olivia Record, and Adeline Record.
The “Guitar Shreddin” award went to “Chewels on the Bus” (Dylan Gifford, Andrew Coon, Charles Brownell, and Jackson Thomas).
“Promising Newcomers” include Theo Parker, Scarlett Bashaw, Peyton Harrington, Jillian Robinson, Cameron Parker, Gus Morse, and Immanuel Trembley.
The Squid Kids (Isabelle Flint, Elijah Lulla, Andrew Mahar, and Emma Washburn) won best overall performance for their original composition, “Golden Journey.”
The Latin Club would like to say “maximas gratias” to the judges, chaperones and custodians as well as Ms. O’Brien and Kobe McManus (photography), Ayla Dansin (sound), the audience, and especially all the performers! Eugepae! (Hurray!)
