How CCS communicates weather-related delays or closures

Looking ahead to winter weather, the Cambridge Central School District wants students, staff and families to know how the district will handle weather-related closures and delays in the 2022-23 school year.

Cancellations, closings, delays or early dismissals will be communicated in the following ways:

  • An email, text message, app notification and phone call will be sent to families via ParentSquare.
  • An alert will be posted on the district’s website.
  • Information will be posted on local TV and radio stations (and their websites).

Community members who wish to be notified but do not have a child attending school can sign up to join our community group on ParentSquare.

Please note, this information will not be posted on social media.

It is best to rely on more than one source of information when it comes to weather-related announcements. This is particularly true in situations that involve power outages, which can affect the district’s ability to send electronic notifications.
