What do you love most about working at CCS?
The thing I love most about Cambridge is the teamwork! I value not only the teamwork with my colleagues, but also the teamwork with the students and their families. I love getting to know the families of my students and working alongside them for the best interest of the child. It is great having the opportunity to teach the whole child and getting to know their families on a personal level.
Why did you want to become a teacher?
I have known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I would line up my dolls on the side of the couch and read them books. I have always loved going to school and I would cry at the thought of summer vacation!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing my students succeed! I love how they come back into my classroom just to say hello and give a hug. Seeing them year after year and watching them accomplish greatness is what matters the most.
What are the top three items on your bucket list?
- Go back to Alaska and rent an RV
- Own a house on the ocean of Myrtle Beach (when I retire)
- Get healthier
What would students be surprised to know about you?
Students would be surprised to know that when I was a little girl I used to show cows at the Saratoga County Fair! One year I even won Grand Champion!
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy watching my son play sports. It is fun to be on the sidelines cheering him on!
What is some advice you would give to students?
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t accomplish something! You have the power to accomplish great things if you have the drive and put forth the work ethic! Keep reaching for the stars!
