Board of Education votes to table mascot motion

We as a Board of Education have a motion to approve a new mascot this evening. On the advice of our superintendent and legal counsel, we are going to table this motion in order to provide more time for district administration to review additional information that has been brought to its attention and to discuss with our school attorney. Mr. Facin is also going to reach out to the State Education Department and report back to the Board to ensure that our selection process and mascot choice are congruent with the NYS Education Commissioner’s Regulations.
