The Cambridge Central School District Board of Education accepted the letter of resignation from Ken Facin effective Feb. 14 during its regular meeting on Thursday, Feb. 13. Additionally, the Board appointed Vince Canini interim superintendent of schools effective Feb. 15.
“It has been a privilege and honor to lead the Cambridge Central School District over the past 18 months,” said Facin. “I am very excited to have Vince come back to the district to take on the budget process. This will allow for a smooth transition to finish out the school year.”
The Board thanks Mr. Facin for his service to our district as interim superintendent. The Board looks forward to working alongside Mr. Canini for the remainder of the school year.
Canini taught business at CCS from 1981-82 and from 1983-1994. Canini returned in 2009 where he served as superintendent of schools until his retirement in 2019.
Canini will serve as interim superintendent as the Board of Education conducts a search to find a permanent superintendent of schools. The search process is well underway and the Board anticipates appointing an individual this spring for a July 1, 2025 start date.
The Board is committed to providing updates to the school community throughout the search process.
