Board of Education intends to appoint Kathy Fields interim director of pupil services

At the March 14 Board of Education meeting, the Board intends to appoint Kathy Fields the interim director of pupil services for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year. Fields is replacing Cherilyn Faraci, who announced her resignation in February.

Fields previously worked for CCS from October 2006 until she retired in June 2020. During her tenure, she served as elementary school psychologist, CPSE Chair and Co-CSE chair for the elementary. She also took part in getting certified and annually attending training in the “Handle with Care Program” from 2016 until her retirement in 2020.

“We are excited to bring Kathy Fields back to CCS along with her experience and knowledge of our school and special education programming,” said Ken Facin, interim superintendent of schools. “She will help us navigate the transition to a new pupil services director while maintaining our current work with students and parents.”

In her role, Fields will chair CSE meetings for the district and work to support students, staff members and families during this transition.

In the coming months, the district will develop a plan to fill the director of pupil services position.
