Cambridge Board announces finalists for superintendency

The Cambridge Central School District Board of Education, in its search for the new superintendent of schools, has narrowed the field of qualified candidates to two finalists:

  • Mr. James Ducharme, High School Principal, Schuylerville Central School District
  • Mr. Michael Hall, High School Principal, Hoosick Falls Central School District

Board President Shay Price said, “The Board is excited to move forward with the final steps in the selection process for the district’s next superintendent. We are fortunate to have high quality candidates who have brought diverse perspectives, experiences and philosophies to the table. After multiple interviews, feedback from advisory committees and careful deliberation, we are one step closer to finding the best fit for the district.”

As part of the hiring process, both finalists will participate in final interviews during the week of March 3, 2025.

According to WSWHE BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Turina Parker: “The Cambridge Board of Education is confident in their decision in moving forward with the two candidates. The Board of Education began their search process last September. The process began with an online survey, open to all constituents of the district, seeking desired qualities and experiences the next superintendent should possess. Using the information from the survey, the Board conducted initial interviews with selected applicants. After the initial interviews the Board selected semifinalists to be interviewed by two advisory committees. Each committee was composed of teachers, staff, administrators, parents and community members. The Board received direct feedback on each of the candidates from the two advisory committees and selected the two finalists listed above. I was pleased with the professional and rigorous process that the Board put in place. Lastly, the Board and I are appreciative of the 22 individuals from across the community who participated in the advisory committees. Both committees conducted their assigned tasks in a professional and thoughtful manner.”
