Dear Cambridge community members,
Safety is always our top priority. To that end, we want to make you aware that the district received notice of a private chat with another student on social media regarding the possibility of a threat at school. Local law enforcement, the District Attorney and the New York State Police were immediately notified and began an investigation.
The individual who made the threat has been identified and arrested. It is important to note that the individual does not live in the district.
We all play a vital role in any school-wide safety effort. It is the duty and responsibility of students, staff and families to report any potential threats to the proper individuals. We appreciate the student who notified the appropriate individuals of the message.
As an added precaution, we will have an increased police presence in our building on Monday.
